It's 2022, and the cats and I all survived the fireworks enthusiasts, though staying up past midnight didn't do anything for my current case of sinus crud.

May this year bring everyone brighter times, and many fannish happinesses. ♥

I always hated New Year as our poor old dog would go frantic, until the last couple of years when he was going deaf, I think. We said goodbye to him in June, but my partner and I were still awake due to the bangs. There weren’t many though, it was very, very subdued.
Hope the year brings good things!

Oh, yes! When I lived with a dog, it was the worst. Thankfully my two elder cats are mostly unbothered (the orange boy hid under a chair for five or ten minutes at one point), but the youngest was unnerved enough that he didn't come running at the sound of dinner (though he didn't quite disappear into hiding, either). Poor pets; if only there was some way to convey to them that these particular loud noises are only annoying but not scary! Thankfully my neighbourhood kept it to a reasonable time frame this time, unlike some years where they seemed to be trying for a 24-hour display.
