Is there a list, somewhere, of every female character who appears in The Silmarillion? There has to be, right?

I would definitely appreciate a link if someone has one...

I'm sorry that I don't have it at hand at this very moment, but Elleth/Vefanyar on tumblr definitely made one some years ago.

It is possible to get that out of Tolkien Gateway with the right know-how, which I don't have, because they tag characters both for being female and for being in the Silmarillion. Or possibly you can just do it with the Advanced Search, which might be easier!

I have seen various quick-and-dirty lists that I can't lay my fingers on.

It is also a question of whether you are looking only for named characters or also for unnamed ones. ETA: Also a question of what you actually mean by Silmarillion. The whole book? The section in the book on the First Age? All pre-Third Age characters in the Legendarium?

Ahhh, belated thanks for the reply! Any pre-Third-Age one would have done, but only named characters, because I wanted to bestow a Tolkien-related name on something. :D
