Internet troubles

I'm currently having internet troubles; or, rather, laptop troubles. (The laptop trouble manifests as internet trouble, i.e. it refuses to keep its wireless adapter enabled AND refuses to allow me to re-enable it.) An hour and a half on the phone with Lenovo tech support resulted in the conclusion that 1) a hardware issue is involved, and 2) the hardware involved is part of the motherboard, ergo 3) replacing the entire laptop is the most logical solution.

I'm not at all thrilled at having to buy a new laptop when I wasn't planning on it, and especially right now, since today I had to replace my car battery! I keep hoping it will miraculously fix itself, at least long enough that I can try for a new one during Black Friday sales... but I don't think that's going to happen. D:< I can't live with this for that long. (It's been nearly a week, and I can scarcely bear that much - I've had fits at it, I won't lie.) However, my work schedule is forcing me to cope, because I won't be free to go shopping till Sunday at the earliest (online shopping being, for obvious reasons, out of the question for the most part) so please wish me patience!

In sum: my current radio silence is NOT by choice! Stand by for technical difficulties, and I hope to be back by next week, more broke in pocketbook but less broke in wi-fi. :D
