Watching NCIS, and giggling
Nov. 10th, 2011 03:44 amI mean this in a completely nonsexual way, but: Abby Sciuto? She can offer to show me her mass spectrometer ANY. TIME. [/sciencegeekery]
I am also quite envious of her collar, and saying that's not my usual sort of accessory is putting things mildly. But it's just so interesting, with the spikes and the triple loops! I've never seen one like it, and I really like it!)

Date: 2011-11-11 10:34 pm (UTC)Heehee, I giggled at her, "I am not one of the Village People!" retort... and the custom, skull-embossed hard hat! She did look like some kind of performance artist. (A very odd Special Guest Star on Sesame Street, perhaps?)
wish I could dress like that at work
Can I ask where you work? Though really, I just wish I could dress like that -- I have neither the build nor the complexion for it, and atop that I lack the dedication (I am a lazy dresser, 99% of the time). It would be neat to imitate, though, if I could pull it off! Since I have virtually never held a job I had to dress up for, unless khakis count, I am bemused by people like Abby who get to dress out-of-code in entirely different ways than could happen in my past jobs. It's interesting how different the social commentary going on turns out to be, when the environment changes...

Date: 2011-11-12 11:51 am (UTC)In my case it involves running around in storage a lot and especially lots of heavy lifting. Boxes, stacks of books, things like this. A beautiful outfit like Abby's short skirts and stockings, her leather cuffs and her jewellery would not only be impractical but also in risk of damage. I have to repair/replace the band of my watch all the time, for example, but I kind of feel naked without a watch.
So I mostly stick to black jeans, band/festival/goth t-shirts, Doc Martens and no jewellery except earrings.
