I HATE SNAPSHOT THING.

Please, o wonderful flist, tell me there's some way to kill these snapshot-popup-linkpreview things? I have (I think) disabled them in my own journal, but I still see them whenever I'm, well, anywhere that's not my own journal.
I cannot even express how annoying I find them, and I seem to recall a post somewhere that had instructions on how to get rid of them... surely there's a way to avoid seeing them at all (short of starting a revolt, conquering LJ, and annihilating the whole thing at the root)?
Does my computer security (I have AVG and ZoneAlarm) have anything to do with this? Why doesn't my pop-up blocker catch them?
The longer I stick around LJ, the more pleasant and sensible I'm finding IJ and JournalFen...

Date: 2007-11-27 01:51 am (UTC)Thought I still can't figure out the second part -- what is AdBlock Plus? I don't think I have it, and the linked instructions for IE are for a version I don't have -- there is no "Preferences" option on my Tools menu, so I'm lost. If I go to 'Pop Up Blocker Settings," there's only a space for allowing specific sites, nothing for "block these."
I may just have to ask on that journal, though I realise it's a kind of old post.
