Well. I woke up at eight today and couldn't figure out why it was so dark -- even in winter dawn ought to start showing by eight. Then my father called, and by the time we hung up I had realised it was eight P.M. (thankfully I hadn't said anything stupid to give away my confusion on the phone), so now I am feeling rather... odd.

I've lost an entire day, essentially. Very strange. I guess I needed sleep more than I thought, or more sleep than I thought. (In the past week, I've had at least two days where I was running on four hours of sleep, but I still wasn't expecting twenty hours to be necessary...) Hmm. Anyway, the question now is what to do, because I'm certainly in no mood to go back to bed, but if I try to stay up, I'm just going to inflict further weirdness on my sleepcycle. Not to mention probably screw everything up by sleeping in too late to accomplish the things I need to do like maths homework (test is on Wednesday, ack!). Yargh.

I've had a few days like that in my life, though usually it was when I was sick. Are you feeling okay?

I suggest you get back into bed. Take a book, or listen to CDs, or listen to the TV with your eyes closed. If you stay up all night, you're going to be totally messed up tomorrow.

Eh, I'm pretty sure it was just the total lack of any sort of schedule for the past... week? At least two days on only four hours, two-hour naps in the middle of the day followed by staying up till three, being woken up early by the phone and going into work even though I'd only gone to sleep six hours before and had intended to sleep till noon :D, and so on. And since I woke up at eight PM, I ended up staying up till 7:30 AM, and waking up at eleven for class today, and... well. :D I may be caught up on sleep, but I'm certainly still not on any kind of schedule! :D

So long as I manage to study for my maths test on Wednesday (and, umm, make it to the maths test on Wednesday), I figure I'm all right. :D

I know someone who partied hard all Saturday night, going to sleep Sunday morning, slept till Monday morning, got up late, rushed to school…and it was closed. She asked a passing couple if they knew why the school was closed, and they told her it usually was on Sunday evenings :o)

So, hope your body was just catching up on sleep deprivation, *pets*.

Heh, I think that was it. Body occasionally just has to kick my mind where it hurts and drag it off to where it needs to be. :D Not that it actually helped anything except the lack-of-sleep, since I ended up staying up past seven AM and waking at eleven... But I think the sleep was probably more important than the schedule.

Thank goodness I didn't say anything embarrassing on the phone till my brain had caught a clue! :D
