Since I last tallied up the WIP stories I follow a long long time ago, and the list is now rather out of date, I'm doing it again, partially inspired by the recent fandom discussions of WIP hatred/love.

A Biddable Man, by Laura Beth -- last updated Jan. 19, 2003
Lest I Wither, by JiM -- last updated Nov. 5, 2004
Yet Another Snape Meets the Dursleys Story, by Rabbit and Jinx -- last updated May 12, 2003
Season for Healing, by Dien -- last updated Feb. 10, 2004, declared dead by author
Mirror of Maybe, by MidnightBlue -- last updated Oct. 26, 2003 with an out-of-order chapter; last sequential update was half of chapter 18 (date unknown)
In A London House, by Maeglinyedi -- last updated May 20, 2004
Through a Glass, Darkly, by Lexin -- last updated (ages ago), author has said it's being difficult
Shattered, by Nym -- technically complete, but removed for beta last year and still not available; author's note at hp.pfen.net has vanished
Le Lion au le Serpent, by Snaples -- last updated Nov. 16, 2003
Where the Apple Falls, by Lariawien -- last updated: July 9, 2003 (?), link dead
The Sorceror's Apprentice, by Jacquez -- last updated Jan. 7, 2004
Cambiare Podentes, by Aspen in the Sunlight -- link broken, may have been removed by author
Consensio, by Isolde -- last updated Apr. 22, 2005

So, of the list, which does not include series-in-progress, the stats stand at:
2 last updated this year
4 last updated in 2004
5 last updated in 2003
3 last updated either prior to 2003, or a date is unavailable
1 have been declared dead
2 have disappeared

I don't hate WsIP, but I am certainly leery of them. They have several good points, actually, but those are counterbalanced by the sort of thing summed up in that last category.
