Marching On

I've been quiet; sorry. Nothing exciting is happening; I am one big ball of frustrated gardening urges right now. :D I long to BUY ALL THE PLANTS! Alas, it's not warm enough yet, so mostly I just look at catalogues and yearn.

My hyacinths (all 15 of them) in the front yard look lovely, though. ♥

Garden woes. The temperature here keeps bouncing back and forth between the 70s Fahrenheit and the 30s Fahrenheit. Things are budding too early and then getting hit by freezing temperatures.

There's similar see-sawing here. From 40F to 70F and back again in the same week: signs that I should not plant anything yet. (Except the 3 fantastic blue columbines I bought off the 'rescue rack.' Those had to go in the ground ASAP.)

How are the blue columbines doing?

I still have no idea when I'll be able to put my "inside for the winter" plants out on my front porch and my deck, and I'm still worrying that some of my planted-in-the-ground things are up too early for the shifting weather conditions.

The columbines are exploding with flowers! I soaked them as soon as I got them home, then deadheaded the spent blooms and got them in the ground a couple days later. They've put out a whole new flush of flowers and look amazing; I'm so proud of them. :D

Hahaha, I have definitely bought SOME plants. A LOT of plants. But not (yet) ALL the plants...
