For years -- as long as I've had this journal, I believe, and the journal before this one, too -- I have said that I did not want or intend to lock my posts.
The "do not want" part, at least, still holds true. But I must admit that LiveJournal's new "decency policies" have me very, very worried. To quote from an excellent summary by

Since I don't post explicit fiction in this journal, I've generally felt safe enough making recs. Now, though, it seems very clear that LJ is preparing to attack even links to "indecent" material, which has me very nervous indeed. Locking every rec above a G rating is starting to look more sensible than paranoid, even though everything in me rebels at the thought.
I will definitely start transferring my recs to my new backup journals in the next few days. Once that's done, I'm going to have to start seriously thinking about locking the recs here; hopefully some new information will have come up in the meantime, the better to judge the risks.
