you write in word? then it lists the full word count of your doc automatically. if you have older word you can jot it down and then compare, but if you have word07 onwards all you need to do is highlight the new parts; it shows the wordcount like this: 78/200 <- 78 being the highlighted words. if you want a wordcount for all works you'd have to copy them into one doc.
