Date: 2012-06-01 06:42 pm (UTC)The good thing is, I'm in Homestuck fandom now, and therefore I have enough pairings dear to my heart that I could probably answer every shipping question with a different one. :D
If I were still in Sherlock fandom all my answers would be very boring, most of them differentiated only by adjectival prefixes. (first OTP: asexual!Sherlock/John. three OTPs: asexual!Sherlock/John, celibate!Sherlock/John, asexual!Sherlock/John/Lestrade.)

Date: 2012-06-01 06:52 pm (UTC)Otherwise I may end up rambling about how many Homestuck WIPs that I cannot live without are cluttering up my bookmarks and AO3 watchlist but NOT MY INBOX WITH UPDATE NOTICES, where have they gone and why did I think it as a good idea to read anything unfinished except if some of these things were not in my life
vast tracts of time would not have been wastedI would be sad unto death.Or, y'know, how much I love Hemostuck and how sexy Hemostuck!Eridan is -- "beautiful wreck" is a phrase that makes me cry and want to cuddle him -- and I am hooked hopelessly hard and it is physically possible to reread "The Fisher Prince" twenty-two times in a waking period but my body regrets it the next day.
Also, fandomsecrets needs more Homestuck secrets, preferably with awesome art and recs for fics I haven't yet discovered included on them.
I want to make fandomsecrets, but A) I do not have the skills, and B) I don't hold any opinions I'm not willing to sign my name to. *sheepish* It's like I'm Doing Fandom Wrong, somehow! Except that we all know I'd end up outing myself as the secretmaker in the comments every time anyway whenever someone me-too'd. :D

I don't understand fandomsecrets, personally. It seems to be mostly "I do/do not enjoy this character/pairing/author as more than/much as others do, this brings me guilt somehow"?

don't understand fandomsecrets, personally
It's like a kinkmeme for meta. Everyone gets to anonymously reveal their Deep Thoughts (TM) on their favourite fandom in a situation where nobody can judge them personally for having a weird
kinkinterpretation.Except, yeah, what I mostly see there is "I like a different character/pairing/author than my friends do, and am afraid they will hate and shun me for that".
Which, uh. 1. Get yourself some backbone, it's fandom not a televised political debate, 2. Get yourself some better friends, because even if no one in the entire fandom shares your preference they still should not regard you as awful for it, and 3. Can we think a little deeper, please, because I really love hearing other people's headcanons rather than pairing preferences! (Feel free to share headcanons about pairings!)
Oh, and 4. Either I'm doing fandom wrong, or I'm doing shame wrong, but either way if it means I feel free to ramble about things and rec any fic I like openly, I'm not interested in doing it right.
