Egad. I'm 24, and I still can't go where I want to go or do what I want to do. At this rate I'll have white hair before I can go to something like Y-Con or undergo sterilisation. Urrrrrrgh. I envy orphans, who never have to do things like explain to Mum and Dad what a "con" is, and endure the complete lack of understanding that results. (We won't even think about explaining to Mum and Dad what "yaoi" is, because I might as well just commit seppuku on the spot and save them the heart attack.)

Here's a warming thought: My kid won't ever have to explain what a con is to me -- I've been dragging her to them, off and on, since she was a babe in arms :>. Last con, she was old enough to go to some panels and enjoy them, so we did the "You choose one, I'll choose one" deal and even ended up in the gaming room for the length of one panel as that was her choice. Had a blast ;>. Someday, you can do that for your kid!
