I think the 25 episodes I have (on 4 discs) constitute the first two seasons. They tell a complete story, and you could definitely stop there the way I have and still enjoy a lot of the fandom!
There were some movies made afterward, and I think a (belated?) additional season, none of which I've seen - but the latter apparently has a canonical gay relationship, albeit not between the two main characters, if that's a thing you're interested in! I do plan to seek them all out sometime in future.
