I feel fannish and I want to be wordy!

I really want to do one of those "ten things I keep in mind when writing that character" memes, but alas! I do not write enough characters, and anyway a lot of them overlap because let's face it, I'm all about the background culture of characters and the worldbuilding. Is there a "ten things I keep in mind/assume are true when writing that fandom" meme?

Lately my life has just been full of delicious, thoughtful discussions of my various headcanons (particularly in Homestuck, but just this evening I got to briefly wax elated on the subject of Loveless!), and/or seen fic or fic prompts that fall within my headcanons; I have this vague urge to write them all out and hope that discussion ensues, but I'm not sure I could muster them all together without forgetting half of them, referencing a bunch of stuff I've started writing but not shared anywhere, and/or breaking DW via flagrant disregard for word limits. :D

I'm putting the 'meta' tag on this anyway, just in case something interesting does happen in the comments! /optimist

Just for fun, my personal headcanon for how Equius♦Nepeta got started: Nepeta's tail is actually a functioning robotic limb that's grafted on or wev. See, Nepeta had some sort of inner ear thing (or something IDK) that screwed her sense of balance up really bad, pawsibly possibly to the point where she had to go around on all fours. One day Equius saw her failing at moving and was moved by pity to do something about it, so he made her a tail to help her balance. And every time he sees her, even now, he can't help but remember that horribly flaily little troll who had trouble staying on two feet and he just has to help take care of her. Meanwhile, Nepeta saw this big strong troll who could do amazing things with his brain and stuff but could barely take care of himself and was terrible at socializing, and decided it was totally her job now to make sure he always had someone he could rely on and who could remind him to calm down and such. And that is how they got together, the end.

Also, this icon has never been more appropriate. The only way it could be better is if it had a diamond instead of a heart. I should shoop that now.

Aww, that is adorable! I've seen the "Nepeta's tail is a robotic prosthesis Equius built for her" headcanon before, but not the pitiful "and it's a legitimate assistive device" backstory!

Hehe, thank you :33 I thought it worked well as a way for them to pale-bond especially since I couldn't think of any backstory I liked better. And I really do like the idea of Nepeta's tail being an assistive device; while manx(?) cats certainly do well enough, tailed cats rely on their tails a lot for balance, and rats are reliant on their tails to the point where breeding tailless rats is considered by some to be abusive. [/let me tell you about rats 8D]
