The nirvana_in_fire community held a zero comment challenge last week, encouraging fans to find and comment on works with no comments yet. I'm a week late, but I went browsing and found some small gems to share:


Some fantastic 'metaphorical' art of Jingyan and a dragon: Imperial Law by Bacca.

A short little character piece on Mei Changsu's untruths: deceive, delude, mislead by Xuer.

A great Qin Banruo/Jun Niang ficlet set, dealing with trust, betrayal, and the legacy of Xuanji: heaven made me by Anahita.

Well, I fell down the rabbit hole into another old fandom, so between yesterday and today I have read more than 100K of Forgotten Realms fanfiction.

Most of these are Jarlaxle/Artemis Entreri - which feels weird, because I didn't have the slightest interest in Entreri back in the day! But Drizzt is so unrelentingly het in the series that it's hard to find fics about him that I enjoy, Zak's dead, I've forgotten most of the cast of War of the Spider Queen, and it turns out (I discovered gradually through my reading) that there's basically a whole series about Jarlaxle and Entreri now? And they tried very hard to make everything as un-gay as they could, but since I have not read the books I'm just going to substitute logic instead. Nothing will ever convince me that male drow aren't all bisexual; Menzoberranzan is absolutely a Situational Sexuality setup if ever there was one.

Guys, I just found this incredible fan-drawn animation of Yuri and Victor pair-skating to On Love: Agape! It's in a lovely spare sketchy style that reminds me of both the anime's ending credits, and of a storyboard.

I'm blown away by the talent shown here, and also by the little flash of Yuri's grin toward the end. <3

I also giggled a bit over how sharply the height difference is. :D Victor, you're a beanpole!

I'm sick and working overtime, so naturally my Flist explodes with wonderful things! :D Like The Flight of the Prince, by mneomosyne. Beautiful atmosphere; a very eerie, almost surreal, depiction of one of my favourite HBP scenes.

Have you seen "Locker Room" yet?

I'm a bit late, I know, but I'm in love! Lanky, sullen, mostly-naked teenage Severus! lizardspots has done it again; I'm drooling. :D If there were a way to print this out, six feet tall, I'd do it in an instant. I'd even pay (cheap as I am) whatever was required to do it!

Why are you still listening to me rave? Go and look! (And don't forget to look for all those little details Lizard slips in!)

Please don't let the title put you off! Despite the obvious implications, lunulet's picture is essentially child- and work-safe. Yes, it's Harry/Padfoot, but it's also entirely cute, and if you really really want to, you can pretend it's not slashy. (Go ahead, break my heart.)

If you haven't seen yukipon's lovely sketch of Harry and Sirius... why haven't you? :D It's absolutely wonderful. The moment depicted is just perfect; so happy, familial, even downright cute.

Gen art! Remus + Harry is just a terrifically sweet hug, with young Harry and a determined Remus; glockgal has done a lovely job depicting emotion on both sides, particularly on Remus, whose very understated-ness makes him seem true to canon. (Plus, despite being pencil work, it looks like watercolours, and I'm a sucker for watercolours!)

Here's one that got lost in the shuffle for a while! Guardian, by Julip (coldbeverage), is a terribly lovely picture that not only evokes a wealth of emotion but is also particularly well-done. I adore watercolours, and hers are superb--muted yet distinct, with a wealth of texture and detail.

Hurrah for ~metamorphism! Remus, naked save for a Christmas bow, kept me grinning all day long.
