Sorry for the recent silence, everyone! Been dealing with a minor household disaster, and it's eaten my energy.

Still reading through the Foreigner series and having emotions about Tano and Algini (I am totally going to make a Word doc that is just... every Tano&Algini&Bren scene in all of the books, because I love them so much).

Went browsing through some AO3 authors' bookmarks and have now swelled my To-Read to 7 pages again, after working it back down to 4 a while ago. Oops? :D Guess I'll have plenty to work through once the house stuff has wrapped up!

The current weather is an insult and an attack on my personally (cold, wet, and did I mention cold) and thwarting all my grand gardening plans. This happens to me every year, because some part of me never left the desert and just does not understand why I can't go outside and do things at any time I please. :P Consoling myself by starting some wild lupine seeds indoors and obsessively looking at seed catalogues.

The cats are almost as insulted by the weather as I am; Youngest Cat has been trying to crawl onto me all day long, when normally he only wants to sit on my arms at 8:45 AM and 8:00 PM. They're all hunkered down on the sofa with me in a cozy pile to keep each other warm, which only happens when it's cold.

I want to write fic, but every time I'm in front of the computer I do everything but write fic. So frustrating!

It is the *worst* thing! So aggravating, to have time and not to use it for the thing one was eager to do when there was no time for it. How can I be antsy to write while at work, and then not manage to do more than open a document file when at home all evening?

Again my situation right now. I think we get antsy to write while at work because at work we are in a state of "revved up" and by the time we get home we are in a state of "winding down".

And speaking of winding down, I'm going to go to bed about two hours earlier than usual now and see if I can wake up earlier than usual and do some writing before it's time to leave for work (that has never panned out for me so far, but "hope springs eternal").

I think boredom plays a role, too. At work, I'm bored and there's nothing interesting around, so writing would be fun! At home, there are twenty dozen fun things to do and writing seems more like work. :P

It's a curse, isn't it? Not the first time I've suffered it, but it never gets less frustrating. How can one spend several parts of the workday eager to write, and then somehow pass 4 hours in front of a screen without writing? Baffling! :P
