December Meme Post 5
My fifth prompt was from
ysobel: "favorite seasonal drink(s)".
Tea! I'm not sure tea counts as seasonal; I drink it year 'round! I tend to drink it a bit hotter in the winter, though, and there are certain varieties I'm drawn to more strongly once the weather turns cold. Chai is probably the most seasonal tea, for me; I crave the aromatic bliss of the spices when it's chilly. I drink all of my tea black, but chai stands alone as the one variety I'll occasionally add sweetened condensed milk to, making it into something of a dessert.
Eggnog! Come November I turn into an eagle-eyed scanner of shelves, seeking the appearance of the eggnog in the shops! I like it best with a sprinkle of my favourite baking spices sprinkled on top: cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, and clove.
Hot chocolate! Definitely a seasonal drink, though I'll resort to it in the summer if I'm sufficiently chocolate-deprived. :D Hot chocolate goes one of two ways, for me, depending on its source: the cheap stuff in packets I prefer to make with water, and more than it calls for; I like it thin, because it's less cloyingly sweet that way. The fancy stuff, though, that's made from real chocolate shavings? I like it rich! If I have milk to hand, I'll use that (I don't drink milk, so normally I don't have it), and sometimes add a splash of cream to enrich it since I'm generally using soymilk or almondmilk. (Best ever hot chocolate, hands down, in case you're wondering!)
Grapefruit juice? This one's only seasonal by coincidence; I drink it when I'm sick, but I tend to be sick more in the winter, so it works out to a roughly seasonal schedule. I buy the expensive, not-from-concentrate kind, because it's so expensive that an indulgence when I'm sick is about the only way I can rationalise the cost. :D
Tell me all about your own favourite beverages!

I don't usually drink alcohol but the festive season can be an exception; my sister brought a bottle of cider with some sort of berry wine added to it and that was lovely. Cider is about the only alcohol I like and even then most ciders aren't as nice as apple juice that hasn't gone bad...

That does sound good! I'd try it, anyway, and I don't drink alcohol at all, pretty much.
