Anyone using Open Office?

I am trying it for the first time, and I'm hoping someone will know how to fix the two main things that are bugging me.

Namely, every single page has a stupid black border around its text that I cannot seem to remove, plus a "gap" between each page that I likewise am having no trouble eradicating.

This program is going to rapidly be deleted if I can't figure out how to undo this nonsense... (Guess what my two least favourite default-settings in MS Word are? Yep. Old!Word, anyway; we won't talk about the absolutely rage-inducing menus of Newer!Word, because I don't need a cardiac incident.)

I use, love, and adore Open Office, so let me try.

In View, you can choose Web layout or Page Layout. It sounds like you are on Page Layout, and it's showing you the literal pages as they would be printed. Try switching to Web Layout and see if that works better.

I don't know how to turn the borders off on Page Layout, but you can go to the lower right corner to the Zoom bar, and click up until the borders go out of view.

Oh! And if you want to change the page size, that's under Format -> Page (if you want to change from B4 to A5, or from Portrait to Landscape). If you are just using it for documents that go on the web, that's not an issue, but I use it at work and print stuff out all the time.

I googled the border thing because it's been bugging me too. Apparently the solution is "in view, untick text boundaries." Hope that helps!
