It's international book week. The rules: Grab the closest book to you, turn to page 52, post the 5th sentence. Don't mention the title. Copy the rules as part of your post.

(It's from The Lord God Made Them All by James Herriot; if you're not familiar with him, he was a country vet in the wilds of Yorkshire back when antibiotics were first discovered. The quoted sentence is from a description of treating a cow with a dislocated hip, with the aid of some German POWs who were quartered with the farmer.)
