I'm alive.
In sum:
There was a sort of hurricane, it ate my power, and I am now at my parents's house. I'm alive and safe and my flat is undamaged, so really: much to be grateful for; but my internet access is going to be a bit sporadic till I can convince my laptop to get along with their modem.
