A belated post
I meant to post this during Nirvana in Fire Appreciation Week, but didn't quite get around to it.
After my first NiF rewatch, I found myself wondering things like, "Was the illegal fireworks factory discovered before or after the Minister of State Revenue was confirmed?" and "Which episode had the funny conversation with Dr. Yan on the steps?"
I also thought it would be handy for fic purposes to be able to answer questions such as, "Which people have referred to Lin Shu as xiao-Shu?" or "How many times does Mei Changsu appear with his hair down?" - the kinds of things that generally aren't found in more general episode guides that just cover the plot.
Have I ever mentioned that one of my unintentional hobbies appears to be collecting blank journals? I have an entire shelf of beautiful blank books just sitting around looking decorative; at this point, I don't even know where they came from! They just appear in my house, somehow. Currently the collection occupies a shelf beside the entertainment center, where my eye fell upon it during an NiF marathon, and it occurred to me that I could solve two problems in one swoop.
It's still a work in progress, but behold: Krait's Personal NiF Episode Guide & Reference Book!

Now I won't even need the Internet in order to relive the viewing experience or work on a fic!

and buy another one if I can find one. It's definitely hard to skim through an episode for one specific thing - especially subtitled, because you can't even just let it play in the background and listen for a key word. Then my runaway journal collecting turned out to have the perfect little book for the job!

I haven't posted my episode summaries (with asides) anywhere, but I do have some episode reaction posts in my "fandom: nirvana in fire" tag, if those would be of any interest to you. :)
