Fell down the old!fandom rabbit hole
Well, I fell down the rabbit hole into another old fandom, so between yesterday and today I have read more than 100K of Forgotten Realms fanfiction.

Deadwinter by Mortsix - Jarlaxle Baenre/Artemis Entreri. Jarlaxle is busy plotting the infiltration of Waterdeep and laying an information network for Bregan D'aerthe, when a complication walks through the gate... A complication Jarlaxle thought he had left behind forever. I love the 'feel' of this story, with Jarlaxle's very quiet regret and pining, and Entreri's distrust!
I'll strip away your hard veneer by empty_throne - Jarlaxle Baenre/Artemis Entreri. Set after Servant of the Shard, Jarlaxle finds that the way to seduce Entreri entails taking the greatest risks. (Or, in the words of the author: because dear GOD are Entreri’s trust issues tailor made for kink.)
The Notorious series by Maverocknroll - Jarlaxle Baenre/Artemis Entreri. This 144K-word series runs the gamut between serious emotional development and delightful crack premises! Plot elements are borrowed from the Jarlaxle & Entreri novels, but with major changes due to the changed nature of the relationship.
Where Loyalties Lie by 0sprey - Jarlaxle/Zaknafein. In the hours before House Do'Urden's attack on House DeVir, Matron Malice receives a visitor. Jarlaxle receives an opportunity. Zaknafein receives an offer... well, two offers. He takes Jarlaxle up on one of them.
The Drow series by Happyorogeny - Jarlaxle Baenre/Artemis Entreri. Another great series; the last fic is currently unfinished, but has been updated this year, and the completed fics are great. I'm particularly fond of the second fic, The Potion, which perfectly encapsulates the way these two relate to each other; their interactions are such an excellent blend of honesty and manipulation. The last fic is currently unfinished, but last updated in January, so I have hopes of finding out what happens next! :D
Lifeblood by 0sprey - WIP, Jarlaxle/Zaknafein. The early days of their training and their friendship. In a city where 'friendship' means an uneasy truce, Zak and Jarlaxle begin to forge something beyond the limits their culture places on them. A work in progress (13 chapters currently), but I love the way Zaknafein and Jarlaxle meet as opponents from opposite ends of the social scale and yet find they have a great deal in common.
Snuggling Sellswords by sno4wy - Fanart rec! Lovely portraits of moments between Jarlaxle and Entreri. Nice lines, excellent colour, and incredibly detailed jewelry!
Most of these are Jarlaxle/Artemis Entreri - which feels weird, because I didn't have the slightest interest in Entreri back in the day! But Drizzt is so unrelentingly het in the series that it's hard to find fics about him that I enjoy, Zak's dead, I've forgotten most of the cast of War of the Spider Queen, and it turns out (I discovered gradually through my reading) that there's basically a whole series about Jarlaxle and Entreri now? And they tried very hard to make everything as un-gay as they could, but since I have not read the books I'm just going to substitute logic instead. Nothing will ever convince me that male drow aren't all bisexual; Menzoberranzan is absolutely a Situational Sexuality setup if ever there was one.

Sometimes it really is all about the tropes. :D I haven't read the more recent books - in fact, I didn't know Jarlaxle had a canonical last name when I went on my fic binge - but that didn't stop me enjoying them, so hopefully you will, too!
(Jarlaxle is the hot bald dark elf in my post icon, if you need a reference. The first outfit we see him wear in canon involves a vest that bares his midriff, a fancy feathered hat, and a boatload of magical jewelry. He's a mercenary/information-broker with very few morals and a whole lot of sass, and he's exactly as fun a character as he sounds!)
