The Wheel of Time was the fantasy series I cut my teeth on as a reader, starting age 9 or 10, though my mother had read me E. Nesbitt and Narnia as a child. I was obsessed! Would frantically ride my bike to the library to get the next volume.

Now I'm older, and having watched the first season of the show and realized that actually, I like the changes they made, getting rid of a lot of the AUGH TEENAGE ANGST will-they won't-they romance teasing and bizarrely unobservant jealousy. I tried to reread them afterward, and couldn't!
