Feeling thwarted

I feel rather hollow lately when it comes to fandom -- not having a Big Exciting Active Fandom has left me floundering about in a combination of disappointment (when I get excited and want to be active in something, there's no fandom) and frustration (all the things my flist is getting active and excited about don't interest me, or I don't have access to them). I have all this pent-up fannish energy, but nowhere to direct it.

Anyone want to direct me to where the Sooper Sekkrit Fangathering for my bookish obsessions might be hiding? Or join with me in an effort to kick Loveless- or Eroica-fandom back into action?

Or take a stab at inducting me into a shiny new fandom?

I would be horribly remiss if I did not mention the yummy happiness of Riptide. Yes, it's a cheesy eighties show, and we are a small fandom, but we have a great set of writers, and the characters are so much fun to write.

Here are a a couple introductory guides:

Tinx's guide (http://community.livejournal.com/smallfandomfest/81772.html)
Sera's guide (http://community.livejournal.com/smallfandomfest/112240.html)

Our main gathering place on LJ is at [livejournal.com profile] pier56.

We are small, but we are also prolific. Our boys are gorgeous and adorable, and there are lots of possibilities for writing because there is so much uncharted territory.

There are even space AUs and crossovers. Lots and lots of fun.

And don't worry if it's not your cup of tea. :) I totally get that; it is a cheesy eighties show, after all. *grins*

The main problem with TV fandoms is that, aside from my tendency to not connect with them, I do not have access to TV. Unless a series can be rented from my local library, I'm out of luck, due to being too clueless and/or lazy to find things online. (Wouldn't even know where to look, aside from YouTube; I am not media savvy.)

I will glance at the library next time I'm in, though. :D I like uncharted territory -- it means more room for fanfic! (Also, space!AUs for the win.)

Sadly, none of this is available online at all. But if you're really interested, let me know, and I'll try to hook you up somehow. :)
